it is that quiet hour, just after ben has left for work, before the kids are up for the day.
i'm having coffee and crackers with peanut butter.
i have paid a few bills. {both ben and i have good jobs, winter has come to a close, and i am grateful.}
i have the radio on, listening, waiting to hear if our fire crew {ben and the guys here} will get dispatched to the smoke i can see on sheep mountain three, a few miles from here.
i am thinking about some good words.
LET US NO LONGER GLORIFY
abundance without purpose
MAY THIS BE THE UNDOING
of mindless multitasking
LET US CEASE THINKING THAT BUSY
is a measurement of worth
MAY WE GRACIOUSLY LEARN TO SURRENDER
a full life for a fulfilling life.
i just refilled my coffee cup, then pet chaco for a good long moment. his ears are so soft and he leans in to my leg and my hands. {peace, comfort, and love.}
in about half an hour, the three kiddos should be meeting me at the table. we have planned 9:00 meetings for summer mornings, to read together, learn, and pray.
we each have a few chores to do today. tuesday is isaac's day to do his laundry and all the dishes. but i will do some of the dishes right away this morning, because last night, there was cake. so this morning, there are dishes from that. i'll help him start with a clean slate. it is my day to clean the downstairs bathroom and olivia's day to clean the upstairs bathroom. you know, the general housekeeping. and i am not a big one for schedules, but we made a reasonable, fairly loose, weekly schedule. and that makes me feel like we are set up to accomplish what needs to be done.
this summer, my goal is a fulfilling life, not an overly full life. {though with five people in our home now, there will be some full days. that's just the way of it.} and you know, i am more alive, more fulfilled, when i am writing and sharing. so . . . we'll see what comes of this little space once again.
for today, happy tuesday, my friends. go gently; love fiercely; be wonderful.
love, ~e
