hello there, friends,
here i am clicking away on a keyboard again. clicking is one of my favorite things to do. clicking on a keyboard, sending little notes out there to dear friends, to acquaintances, to the universe of readers found and not-yet-found. also, clicking my camera shutter. i have been clicking the shutter on my iphone every day. i post on instagram at bits_of_sunshine - photos and thoughts. lists of gratitudes. i capture moments and click out my thoughts and share them with whoever drops by.
i capture the rock you see standing in the upper right of this photo often. from many angles. in all sorts of weather. sometimes i sketch it. sometimes i write about it. sometimes i just drink it in. it's called captial rock. and it's just amazing. it lies about 7 miles away and 800 feet above our home, but i can see it from my living room, dining room and bedroom windows. i wonder how many times i've clicked my shutter on this rock in the past four months. at least a hundred. but probably two. i won a blue ribbon at the fair for one of my pictures of this rock.
today i was home all day, i watched full moon and sun and cloud and shadow and brilliant light move and dance across its face.
so often, i lift my eyes to this piece of the mountain, to this marker in the hills. so often, i am reminded where my help comes from. my help comes from the maker of this and every rock and hill and mountain, the creator of the ends of the earth, the one i need, the one who is my hope and my friend.
and often, but not as often as i would like, i walk up to this rock. we all love it up in the mountain.
this weekend i will have a chance to do some more shutter clicking, in a favorite place and in some new places. and i plan to click on and capture my children's faces over and over again while we are out together. they are very funny about having their pictures taken at this point, so i will have to be a clever and savvy clicker. i'm looking forward to the challenge.
