i set up a necklace on a book, then waited for the clouds to move across the sun, and whenever the light was just right, i would snap a picture, then set up the next . . .
maddie was watching me, half laughing at me, but then i explained to her how when the sun is brightest, it washes the colors out, and when the clouds are completely covering the sun, everything is too dark, but there are a few moments, as the sun is just going behind, or just reappearing, that the color turns out true. that's the moment i want.
maddie and i had been doing some making - my favorite fabric, and this kit - and a little collaboration on the work - you can read about it here, on the listing in my shop.
i also used some of my favorite fabric to re-edge ben's and my quilt
this quilt was too big and had a scalloped edge that i didn't care for. i cut the edge off, and sewed on a binding of fabric i love. the quilt is much more manageable now, and i love the bit of color all around.
have you fixed anything up lately?
