bits of sunshine

in the intrest of being (sort of) fair . . .

there has been a lot of boy on my blog lately, and not so much girl . . .

so here's some girl ::

i got home from work last night and ben told me that this girl of mine had made tacos for the three of them for supper - all by herself!  and she did dishes and cleaned up the kitchen (with a little help) afterwards.  i went down to her room to kiss her and make sure her covers were all pulled up to her pretty little chin and to whisper "i love you"

i am so very, very, very blessed to be her mom.

(and p.s.  work went really well yesterday afternoon.  it will not be a big deal to pick up some afternoon shifts to fill things in for us this month.  i'm really grateful about that, too.)

a different sort of day . . .

but aren't they all?

i'm off to work this afternoon.  we'll see how an afternoon shift goes.  i thought that i was going to have my little buddies like usual this month, but i guess not.  so, i'm picking up a few extra shifts at work - and maybe, just maybe, this afternoon thing will go ok. 

the kids and i are done with school work for the day.  we're going to get some fresh air.  then i'll drop them off with my parents for a few hours till ben can pick them up, and i'll get to come home and sleep with my family and start a regular (?) day tomorrow.  (ha.ha.  *with a twinkle in my eye*)

so, we just keep rolling with it.  and rolling.  and rolling along.  and i just remind myself that there is no such thing as a normal day.  there just isn't.  but it all keeps working out, anyway.
