yesterday afteronon ben and the kids and i went to the christmas concert at concordia college in moorhead, minnesota.
it was beautiful.
as soon as the orchestra started warming up
my throat tightened and my eyes filled
and when the music really started . . .
and the naration began . . .
In the beginning, God
and the singing, oh the singing . . .
the earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep
and the lights,
then God made two great lights: the sun and the moon, and the stars to cover the sky
on the backdrop and the ceiling - like a sky full of stars
i fought to not let the tears spill over
i've missed beautiful, live, real music
and i miss singing choral music
maddie and isaac loved it
some of the time, ben had his eyes closed, the words singing through his heart
i was moved. so moved.
Come to us, O Lord, in splendor bright;
fill our hearts with everlasting light. Amen.
what a perfect prayer for this season of advent:
come, Lord Jesus, come
