We are not connected to the internet out at our new place yet . . . we have been trying to figure out the best way to do it . . . so, for now, we'll do a library trip every once in a while so I can stay connected to all of you.
Our house is coming along so well and so fast. I get a bit choked up almost every time I drive up the hill and see how beautifully it is coming together. It is just so cool to be working on a house, our house, and to have my husband overseeing and working hard on the whole project, to be pitching in whenever I can, to watch my kiddos run around and watch and help and just be part of this whole process. The other guys who are working on the house are all really special to me, too. My dad is doing the wiring and also helping with the building. My brother and the guy who works with him are building and will install all my cabinets and built in shelving. The guys who work for Ben are like brothers to me. One of them is newly married and I am enjoying a growing friendship with his wife. The other is going to be married in September and Ben and I are doing marriage counseling for him and his sweet, fun wife-to-be. The plumber and the excavator are the guys who always do that work for Ben, so they are an integral part of our livelihood as well and are guys we really care about. We've also had the opportunity to hire some friends to do some clean-up sorts of jobs. Every bit of sweat that has gone into our house is by someone who is important to us. This house is truly a work of love.
We are so looking forward to hosting friends and family and Bible study groups and more couples and families for counseling. The first night we spent out at our place was one of our nights for pre-marriage counseling - just a little taste of what all this place will be used for.
Yes, I did say our first night at our new place. We are living out there in a 5th wheel camper which belongs to some friends of ours from church and is the palace of all camper trailers! I was picturing a glorified pop-up camper when they told us they had a 5th wheel we could borrow . . . it is HUGE and crazy-nice! We have a full kitchen, fridge, stove, running water, a living room with two recliners and a sofa, a bathroom with a functioning sink and shower, and a bedroom with a king size bed and more closet space than we had in our old house, we have air-conditioning and we never wear our shoes inside! (You know, it's borrowed, and we are trying to keep the wear and tear to a minimum!) It has been so awesome to be able to live right there and be able to get more done!
I will add more pictures the next time I get to have some computer time. And I will check up on all your blogs and spots in the next few days. I do miss you all. I miss reading blogs and facebook updates on a semi-daily basis. Take care, my friends! Hugs to you, ~Elizabeth
