This weekend, I left my camera in my bag. But, if I had been taking pictures, I could have shown you
- The black program covers with three small white crosses sketched in white charcoal pencil that I made for our Good Friday Service.
- The small group of dear people who gathered in our church to remember the death and burial of Jesus Christ.
- The beautiful sunny, windy Saturday morning we enjoyed. We traipsed through woods and trees to a river bottom and watched the springtime thaw go rushing by.
- The deer tracks we found.
- The coffee we all four enjoyed.
- The hilltop overlooking the river.
- Our garage doors wide open while we cleaned and swept and organized.
- Maddie and Isaac riding bikes.
- Ben and a friend playing catch (softball season, I'm looking forward to you!).
- Three meals enjoyed outside on Saturday.
- A sunny, bright Sunday morning.
- The finishing touches on an icebox dessert (strawberries and lime whipped cream).
- Maddie's long curls.
- Me quickly sewing tucks in a pretty pink dress that was just a touch too big.
- Isaac, all dressed, all by himself, ready for Easter service.
- The four of us sitting in a bunch, rejoicing in our risen Savior!
- Ham and mashed potatoes and homemade rolls and all sorts of goodness on my Dad and Mom's table, surrounded by family.
- 4 little boys in a row, wolfing down their dinner, just itching to be outside.
- 4 silly kiddos wading in the lake - 2 days after the ice went out!
- My mom, my sister-in-law and I sitting in the sun, getting some color in our cheeks and on our arms and toes!
- A snuggly 10-month-old baby.
- Colorful Easter eggs hidden in leaves and bushes and mailboxes and truck rims.
- Sticky chocolate fingers.
- A mud pie with colorful jelly bean and candy egg decorations.
- Gramps pitching to the boys.
- Girls and their dolls sitting on a big rock in the sun.
- Back home, Ben and Isaac playing catch.
- Maddie and I walking by the river, looking at the geese and seagulls and ducks.
And Maddie played a joke on me this weekend. The first real joke she's every played. We were heading up to brush teeth and get ready for bed and she told me that she had a hair in her mouth and could I please help her get it out. I told her to hang on a minute and if she couldn't get it out, I'd help her after I helped Isaac get his tooth brushing started. It was a couple minutes later that she said, "Mom, this hair it really bugging me." So I told her to open her mouth, and there on her tongue, she had a piece of Easter basket grass! (That weird plastic stuff.) I just busted out laughing! What a goof!
Perfect weekend. Just perfect. I hope yours was, too!
