we woke to this ::
but by afternoon, the sun was shining brightly ::
This past weekend we were gone for a very nice (though very busy!) weekend with Ben's family. Ben is one of four siblings - all married. There are quite a few kiddos, too - twelve to be exact - ranging in age from 4 months to 11 years old. The four oldest are girls, the other eight are boys! (And five of the twelve are adopted!) So, just keeping track of all the kiddo comings and goings was a little wild at times!
We had our Thanksgiving feast together on Saturday - with piles and piles of food - including fresh lefse (oh, so yummy!) and candied sweet potatoes and turkey and ham and stuffing and rolls and all kinds of goodness. Too much food to even try it all! Though, I did eat a *few* pieces of lefse before dinner as I was making it with Ben's oldest sister. But. I am not sad to have filled up on lefse. I had just enough room for some candied sweet potatoes and dark meat turkey - two of my favorite Thanksgiving treats!
In other news, I have made a schedule for our schooling endeavors. If it goes as smoothly next week as I hope it will, maybe I will share some bits of it. This week is sort of hit and miss with returning from our trip on Monday, settling back in at home on Tuesday, and some extra goings-on at church in the evenings for the rest of this week. We are doing school-work, just not quite going all-out with my new schedule. I'll see how it goes on a regular week . . . regular? what's that?
I have all sorts of plans for little up-coming projects and posts - I think tomorrow I will be posting a couple recipes. I have to do a bit of baking today, so, I will take some pictures as I go, just for you!
